Thank you to Rich Haswell and Glenn Blalock for CompPile and CompFAQs

The Council of Writing Program Administrators thanks Richard Haswell of Texas A & M University Corpus Christi (retired) and Glenn Blalock of Baylor University for the contributions they have made and continue to make to the development and circulation of knowledge in areas related to the intellectual work of writing program administrators by developing the CompPile bibliographic database (http://comppile.tamucc.edu/) and CompFAQs wiki (http://comppile.tamucc.edu/).

Thanks!

Your work has made my work easier and more fulfilling in ways I can't really even comprehend. Thanks for CompPile and CompFAQ, but also, thanks for being available to make those resources even more approachable. Looking forward to many more years benefitting from your hard work.

Thanks to Rich and Glenn

Many, many thanks for the countless hours you two have devoted to developing this invaluable resource. Not only do I consult it often, but it's one of the first research tools I introduce to graduate students in my methods and bibliography course. The librarians on my campus can't believe that such a fabulous discipline-specific resource exists. We are all indebted to you. Thank you!

thanx to rich & glenn

From another frequent user, sending this message by satellite from the beautiful hills of West Virginia where the nearest neighbor is six miles down the road:--CompPile and CompFAQs are not only one of the best resources to our community, but they also represent what I think is the best about our community--people who do things just to help others out. Imagine if CompPile and CompFAQs keep going well beyond us all--say for a few hundred years or so.

Rich and Glenn, I am so in your debt, as are we all. Thank you so much for all the work you have put into CompPile. In my work with training teachers, I use it several times a day, every day of my life. I could not do my job without it.

Further, I mark it as a significant moment in the training of a writing teacher when he or she starts consulting CompPile as a matter of course. It's a rite. It marks membership! Your contributions are incalcuable. Thank you 465 times (http://www.elite.net/~runner/jennifers/thankyou.htm)

Thanks and then some

I just want to add my thanks to Rich and Glenn. Those of us who use Comppile and CompFAQs see only the tip of the iceberg of help they provide behind the scenes. When Deborah Minter and I approached them about collecting program documents on the CompFAQ site, they were not only quick to agree, but wonderfully helpful in anticipating problems, responding to questions and continuing the project in ways we couldn’t have imagined. The generosity of time and thought these two give to our professional work is matched by their humility. BRAVO!

Thank you, l i'm a big fan

Thank you, l i'm a big fan of ComPile and CompFAQs and have turned a few of my teachers on to using it as well. I got my degree last year and still help them with it whenever they need since i'm damn near an expert.

CompPile is wonderful!!

CompPile is wonderful!!

Thanks so much to Rich and Glenn for putting so much work, life, and care into developing and maintaining it. CompPile has become (for many of us, at least) the most important research tool around. Check out those CompPanels too!

A toast to Rich, Glenn, and all of those who have contributed to this invaluable resource.

Thanks!

Thanks for what you have done to help us not only identify and access our collective knowledge, and to build and circulate it, but also to stretch our thinking about the definitions of scholarship.

Kudos to RIch and Glenn

Rich and Glenn: The two of you, in your efficient and modest way, have revolutionized the expectations of WPAs. As administrators who frequently work alone on our campuses, we selcom have the luxury of immediate consultation with the wisdom of the profession. Listservs are wonderful, but access to the published scholarship through a fast, thorough, and free data base makes all of us look just a little bit smarter.

Thank you for CompPile and its growing suite of features. We owe you enormous credit for your work, even as we recognize that you have concocted and performed that work out of your own curiosity and industry. You are truly exemplary contributors to the profession.

Many thanks,

Carol

Kudos to Rich and Glenn!

I've been following the progress of Comppile for years with great interest and appreciation, and the development of Compfaqs in recent months. I'm a big fan of homegrown resources for our field, including a place we can now go to get the best answers for some of the most common questions that WPAs and composition specialists face.

Today I went to the session with Rich and Glenn, thoroughly enjoyed the discussion, and appreciated even more their efforts to change the ways we do scholarship, share information, and think collaboratively as a discipline. Hats off to both of you!

I don't know any researchers

I don't know any researchers in the field who don't use CompPile regularly. We are collectively indebted to Rich and Glenn for this enormous database. And now the addition of Comp FAQs! I particularly appreciate how flexible and facilitative Rich and Glenn are as they talk with potential contributors to the FAQs. Many, many thanks.

Kudos to Rich and Glenn

All we have to do to appreciate the amazing work of Rich and Glenn on CompPile and CompFAQ is to remember what scholarly and professional life was like before the existence of these projects. Rich and Glenn, on behalf of all of us--WPAs, composition scholars and researchers, graduate students, and writing teachers--a huge thanks and debt of gratitude.
