Joining WPA

Why Join?

The Council of Writing Program Administrators offers a national network of scholarship and support for leaders of college and university writing programs.  Members include directors of freshman composition or undergraduate writing, WAC coordinators, writing center directors, department chairs, and so on.  Graduate students and faculty with professional interests in writing program administration are cordially invited to join.

Membership Benefits

• Unrestricted access to information, resources, forums, newsletters, and journal archives at the Digital WPA website, including your own blog, and much more.
• A subscription to WPA: Writing Program Administration, a semi-annual refereed journal
• Invitations to the annual WPA Summer Workshops and  Conferences
• Invitations to submit papers for sessions that WPA sponsors at MLA and CCCC
• Participation in the WPA Research Grants Program, which distributes several $1000 to $2000 awards
• Invitations to the annual WPA  breakfast at CCCC and the annual WPA party at MLA
• Information about the WPA Consultant-Evaluator program
• Participation on WPA Committees and Task Forces

To Join or Renew Your WPA Membership

• Regular Members and Graduate Students. Visit the two preceding links to find the appropriate membership and pay for your membership online using our secure PayPal credit card processing system. (You don't need to have a PayPal account to charge your membership dues to your credit card.) Use the "add to cart" link found on each page to add the specific membership to the shopping cart. Then check out.
• Libraries. Visit the preceding link to find out more about library membership. To join the Council of Writing Program Administrators with a one year membership for libraries, follow the directions below for submitting your membership application by mail or contact the WPA Treasurer for additional help.

To Review Your Order History or Print a Receipt

Go to "my account" and then click on "View your order history." If you have an active subscription, you will see it listed.

To Change Your WPA Journal Shipping Address

• If you are renewing your membership at this time, the system will ask you for a new shipping address during your order.
• If you have a current WPA Membership and need to change your shipping address, contact the WPA Treasurer and provide the following: WPA website username, first and last name, mailing address info.
