The Department of English is seeking to hire a nine-month, non-tenure earning instructor or lecturer of Technical Communication. The position entails a 4/4 teaching load of both face-to-face and online courses. It is anticipated to begin in August 2016, pending the availability of funding.
FT instructor currently teaches six sections of composition and literature courses (Fall semester), five (Spring semester) and others as needed. Advises students. Serves on College and/or department committees. Engages in professional development. Keeps office hours. Submits reports of instructional activity. Participates in the collection and analysis of data pertaining to student learning outcomes and competencies. Is able to use online platforms to enhance teaching and learning. May be required to teach classes at multiple campus and off-campus sites, including high schools.
The Coordinator of the Graduate Writing Center is responsible for all aspects of the daily functions and special events in the Graduate Writing Center. The Coordinator supervises the lead coordinator as well as any auxiliary staff, i.e. part-time writing consultants. The Coordinator also maintains the master calendar, works schedules, and appointments in the GWC. In consultation with staff, the Coordinator determines what resources are needed and supervises the creates and updating of those resources.
Drexel University seeks a Department Head to lead the Department of English and Philosophy, starting in September 2016. The Department is comprised of undergraduate programs in Literature, Writing, and Philosophy as well as a Master’s program in Publishing. The Department of English and Philosophy is also responsible for the teaching of writing across the curriculum and for the operation of the University’s Writing Center.
