The Alma College English Department invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to begin in fall 2009. We seek a specialist in digital rhetoric and composition with expertise in integrating technology into the classroom. Secondary field is open but may include media studies or technical/professional communication.

Position requires a Ph.D. or ABD in English and/or Composition, relevant teaching experience, and an active research agenda. Demonstrated expertise in new media studies is desirable; a Ph.D. is required for tenure-track appointment. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to liberal arts education at the undergraduate level in an environment emphasizing close faculty-student interaction. Development of interdisciplinary applications is encouraged. Standard load is six courses per year and may include direction of the writing center.
