Writing Program Director at the University of Northern Colorado

Advanced Assistant or Associate Professor, tenure track, 9 month appointment. Undergraduate and graduate teaching and advising, scholarly activity, service to department, college, university, and profession. Teaching load for Writing Program Director is normally 2/2.

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in Rhetoric, Composition, Professional Writing, Technical Writing or equivalent by August 2018. Evidence of successful teaching and research.  Three years’ experience in writing program administration.

We seek candidates who can contribute to the revision of a Writing Program that offers required lower-division and elective upper-division writing courses, a Writing Minor, and support for a Writing Major. In addition to the minimum qualifications. The ideal candidate will be willing to share in lower and upper-division writing administration duties and assist in developing courses in one, but not all, of the following areas: writing pedagogy and assessment, writing across the curriculum or writing in the disciplines, professional or technical writing, writing for nonacademic audiences, online and offline editing and publishing, teaching intermediate and advanced special topics in rhetoric and writing. All candidates must be able to appreciate and nourish interactions between the creative, academic, technical, and professional areas of the Writing Program.
