Visiting Assistant Professor of Technical Communication

Job description

The University of Central Florida Department of English is hiring (two) one-year Visiting Assistant Professors of Technical Communication. Successful applicants will teach in both our undergraduate Technical Communication B.A. track and in our graduate M.A. in Technical Communication. These are 9-month non-tenure earning positions that are non-renewable. The anticipated start date is August 2018 and will entail a 3/3 teaching load.

Minimum qualifications

A Ph.D. or ABD in English, Technical Communication, or a relevant field from an accredited institution; successful teaching experience at the university level. Terminal degree required by time of hire.

Preferences

Experience teaching technical communication; experience in online instruction; strong interest in one or more of the following areas: information architecture, usability studies, UX, digital humanities, rhetoric of science and technology, technical editing and style, ethical issues in technical communication, or related areas.
