Articles may explore issues of theory, practice, and experience in writing center work, including qualitative and empirical studies and discussions of pedagogy.

Director of University Writing Programs, University of the Pacific


The University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, is seeking a Director of University Writing Programs to direct and manage the Student Writing Center, University-wide Writing in the Disciplines program, the developmental writing program, and teach in the Pacific Seminar program. The Director will work with units across the tri-city campus to strengthen the teaching, learning, and assessment of writing in the disciplines and across the curriculum. This is a three-year, ten month renewable position beginning August 1, 2014.

Pre-doctoral Diversity Fellowship in Writing at Ithaca College

The School of Humanities and Sciences at Ithaca College announces Pre-Doctoral Diversity Fellowships for 2014-15. The fellowships support promising scholars who are committed to diversity in the academy in order to better prepare them for tenure track appointments within liberal arts or comprehensive colleges/universities.

The Department of Writing is one of the host departments currently seeking a Pre-Doctoral Diversity Fellow. Prior to August 16, 2014, the fellow must be advanced to candidacy at his or her home institution with an approved dissertation proposal.

Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position, University of Winnipeg

The Department of Rhetoric, Writing, and Communications at the University of Winnipeg invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will teach upper-level rhetoric, writing, and/or communications courses as well as first-year Academic Writing courses; will contribute to curriculum and program development; and will be expected to carry out a research program. Subject to budgetary approval, this appointment will be effective July 1, 2013.
