The University Center for Writing-based Learning at DePaul invites applications for a staff director. The successful applicant will report to an AVP/Academic Affairs; responsibilities include supervision and coordination of two full-time assistant directors in the continuing development of a university-wide writing initiative characterized by writing intensive courses in the disciplines and liberal studies; an emerging electronic portfolio project; and a large, multi-campus writing center. Signifiant experience in writing program administration highly desireable. The UCWbL director teaches, appropriate to training and experience, three courses per year (graduate/undergraduate, in the quarter system) in the department of Writing, Rhetoric, and Discourse. We particularly seek candidates who mirror the diversity of the university and its surrounding urban community, and we specifically solicit applications from women, people of color, and individuals from other historically underrepresented groups.
