The English Department is pleased to announce the establishment of the Houston Writing Fellows Program for writing instructors interested in joining a cohort of teachers and scholars committed to the theory and practice of writing pedagogy. The Houston Writing Fellows Program is designed to enhance the intellectual and pedagogical community of instructors involved in the English Department’s writing courses by providing workshops, mini-conferences, mentorship opportunities, and other events that explore writing pedagogy.

UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH ADMINISTRATOR OF LOWER DIVISION STUDIES The English Department at the University of Houston is accepting applications for the position of Administrator of Lower Division. The Administrator of Lower Division will work closely with faculty, staff, graduate teaching assistants, and the Director of the Writing Center to coordinate our Lower Division writing courses, including core composition courses, and courses in writing in the discipline and writing about literature; will help develop and implement our writing curriculum; will oversee the training and supervision of new Lower Division writing instructors; and will work with the Chair to develop course scheduling. While this is primarily an administrative position, there will also be opportunities for teaching within the program.
